                    Can art change society?

                    Tools Series: September 2010

Ongoing exploration in composition, combining the "shaped canvas" motif with narratival imagery. The next composition will be in the shape of a hand saw. I plan to print them on canvas, cut out the shape, and mount them on either steel or brass, showing a 1/2" to 1" metal border around each image/shape, depending on the size of the image; The larger the image, the wider the metal border.

Saw is the fourth tool in the series of odd-shaped paintings. It's 8 feet wide. My next shape may be a carpenter's Triangle or perhaps a ''T' Square.' The theme of people in boxes should remain the same.
